The cost of dental implants varies widely from case to case. To know what implants will cost you, request a consultation with our dentist.

Dental Implant Cost Factors

At Whiteman Dental Associates in Brookline, MA, every dental implant patient has a custom-designed treatment plan with unique associated costs. Obviously, one of the primary cost factors is your degree of tooth loss and how many implants you require. In addition to the number of dental implants, other factors that we take into account when estimating dental implant costs include:

Type of Implants

We offer traditional dental implants and mini implants. Mini dental implants and abutments tend to cost less than traditional implants and abutments, but they aren't the best option for larger tooth replacement. Depending on the condition of your existing bone structure and the location and number of your missing teeth, our dentist will recommend the restorative implant procedure that is right for you.

Type of Restorations

Dental implants can serve as support for dental crowns, dental bridges, or dentures. Of course, restoring a single tooth with a dental crown comes with a lower average cost than restoring a full arch of teeth with an implant-supported denture. However, know that no matter the level of implant care you require, the aesthetic and functional results will be well worth the price.

Associated Procedures

Some patients are able to qualify for dental implants right away, while others may require preparatory dentistry to improve their oral health before dental surgery. This usually includes treatments like teeth and gum cleanings, which can increase your overall treatment cost, but they build a strong foundation for dental implants and can increase the chances of successful implant treatment.

Reasons to Invest in Your Smile

Dental implants can give you a fully functional smile and restore the confidence you may have lost after losing a tooth. Because dental implants offer unmatched durability, impressive longevity, and a natural-looking appearance, implant patients agree that the cost of treatment is a worthy investment.

Previously, medical and dental insurance plans did not cover the cost of dental implants unless a patient's tooth loss was related to another condition. However, there are now some providers that offer limited coverage and discount plans for implants as part of their benefits package. Our staff is happy to check with your insurance provider to find out if you are eligible.

In addition to helping you maximize your insurance benefits, we make it easy to pay for dentistry by accepting all major credit cards.

Life-Changing Results Worth Every Penny
Take a Look at What Implant Dentistry Can Do

Before dental implants
Before Dental Implants This patient came to our Brookline office with a tooth that was decayed and damaged past the point of saving with another restorative dental procedure. Thankfully, Dr. Whiteman knew that an implant and dental crown could help.
After dental implants
After Dental Implants After thoroughly cleaning the patient's teeth, our dentist gently extracted the compromised tooth and replaced it with an implant. Once healed, we attached a custom dental crown that beautifully restored the patient's smile.

Other Considerations

The technology used to create your dental crown, bridge, or denture may have an affect on your overall cost of treatment. For qualifying patients with only a single missing tooth, we are able to provide restorations using our in-office CEREC® machine that creates crowns from milled porcelain using computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM) technologies. Choosing high quality, durable materials like milled porcelain will ensure your restorations last for years to come.

Also, certain choices you make related to your implant surgery can influence the cost of dentistry. For example, the type of anesthesia you choose will affect your treatment cost, as will whether or not you choose to receive your implants and restoration in the same day.

A Closer Look at Insurance Coverage For Our Dental Implant Patients

It's common for dental insurance providers to contribute to the cost of implant-supported crowns, bridges, and dentures. While dental implants and abutments themselves were not covered by basic dental insurance for many years, some providers now offer discounts and limited coverage.

We accept many types of dental insurance, including plans from Delta Dental®, Blue Cross® Blue Shield®, Metlife, and Cigna®. We are glad to work directly with your provider to help you get the most from your benefits when it comes to all applicable treatments.
